Kingdom Hall Build 06/08  Odessa Tx

My wife and I went to our first Kingdom Hall Build in Odessa Tx about a 4 hour drive. This was a double hall.

She worked in the Tool Trailer and I was in the Saw Dept.

The first set of photos are from my Phone. I took a picture in the morning, noon, and afternoon for the 3 days we were there.

My wife used her camera and took them whenever.

First some stories.

The avg temp for the 3 days we were there was 105f.

The first day we lost 3 workers to the heat. On the 2nd day (the day we got there) I was almost carried to the first aid.

I sure that my blood pressure had dropped out from under me as I have been having a problem with it.

I found out that the First Aid didn't have a blood pressure cuff so that night I went to Wal-mart and donated one to them.

That way I could keep check on my pressure through-out the day.

The site had the new trailer with the men and women's bathroom in them. There were two porta potties off to the side in the parking lot. They had notes on them that read: "Please do not use the porta potties. Use the trailer."

The next day at the announcements the brother said.

"You may have notice the sign on the porta potties saying not to use them, but to use the trailer. Brothers and sisters we didn't mean to use the brother's trailer parked next to the potties. Use the bathroom trailer."

On the 3rd night a storm came up a couple of miles away.

Lighting struck a field and started a fire. For a while it was out of control, but they manage to get it out before it reached the site. One brother got a picture of the fire at night with it's orange flames reaching up to the sky with a lighting bolt framed behind it.

We were able to watch the whole horizon lite up with smoke and an orange glow in the night sky.

The brother that we were with was on his way back to his room when they saw the bolt that started the fire. They were almost the first ones to call 911.

My wife and her friend was working in the tool trailer. John their supervisor told them that when the fiberglass workers comes in for their haz-mat suits, and if they were your size to be sure they got the EXTRA LARGE ones. My wife and her friend's arraignment will be next week.

Now on to the photos. Enjoy.
